What to Expect
Currently I am providing only telehealth services. Prior to initiating treatment, we will begin with an exploratory phone consultation lasting around 10 minutes. This conversation will help us determine if my practice is a good fit for your current needs. Some individuals may require more intensive treatment and/or services I cannot provide and will be advised we may not be a good fit. If we mutually feel that my practice can assist you further, an initial consultation will be tentatively scheduled. You will then be required to complete a series of initial forms within 24 hours of our phone conversation. If they are not received in 24 hours’ time, your appointment will be cancelled.
Our initial evaluation will last approximately 60 minutes during which we will review your past history, current symptoms and life situation, along with your expectations and goals for treatment. After the initial evaluation is completed, we will decide if my practice can fully assist you. If we mutually agree to move forward with treatment, a concise treatment plan will be created.
As mentioned prior, I incorporate both medication management and psychotherapy into my practice. If medications are part of your treatment plan, we will focus on finding the safest and most effective regimen to alleviate symptoms. Regarding controlled substances: as a general practice I do not prescribe benzodiazepines (ie. Xanax, Klonopin, Valium) for long-term use. I do not focus on ADHD management and treatment, and therefore I rarely prescribe stimulant medication. I do not prescribe Suboxone or opioid medications.
Medication management may be combined with psychotherapy for a longer appointment, or provided as a stand-alone service in a shorter appointment. Psychotherapy, with or without concurrent medication management, is typically provided in long appointments.
